Political opinions aside, I think looking for new ways to teach children in a society ever more aggressively distracting them (intentionally and unintentionally) is a good thing...even better if it can also help people realize another possibility for video games as a medium.
The President of the USA has this week challenged would-be video game developers to put their minds to educational titles.
So if you a student studying game development or an indie developer you could do worse taking some time out to consider how you might make something that can teach...and for the kids...I wish I could get to see some of the applications on things like this, young people often have none of the preconceptions that can limit our cynical adult minds, and have quite the imagination...there might be some pretty good ideas appear out of something like this...
