A Wonderful Steampunk adventure

I don't always mention the personal stuff quite so much here on the blog, but when you have the most amazing and meaningful days of your life, and it all comes together so well, it's worth a mention. The wedding yesterday was an absolutely unforgettable day. We had a Steampunk theme to the whole affair, and everyone really got into it so there were loads of cool costumes to be spotted.

It was a cool day all around...

The venue was the L'Auberge St Gabriel here in Montreal, a wonderful location, that is apparently the oldest Inn building in North America. The costumes worked out as well as we had imagined (and a huge thanks to folks at Maritime Arts and The Gentleman's Emporium who provided the various parts of my costume). Formal occasions are not something I am all that comfortable with, so the theme, the costumes and the fun atmosphere made for an amazing day...

Even the cake got in on the Steampunk act!

... so we had to find something to go with it ...

...The cake top was one of my favorite elements, but even it went by in a blur for me, the day came off well, and everyone seemed to have fun! Can't ask for much more ...

Thanks to all those who took the pictures above that we raided from Facebook this afternoon. The day was everything a wedding day should be...

...now a few days off before getting back to day job!

Marrying a girl that is willing to do that in Steampunk garb is winning, as a certain Charlie would say.

Congratulations!

... and may the goggles be with you.. always. ;)
