Convention fever...

First day of Gamescom in Cologne done and dusted...ten straight hours of presentations with the press, all went well with no technical hitches...pretty good going for the first day of a trade show. Lots of good reaction and feedback on what we are showing, which is also always nice. The set-up in Cologne is really good, the facilities excellent and it seems like a nice city (although I would love to get to see more of it!) The company that put our booth together did an awesome job on the set-up as well - so all good so far.

Tonight brings a little rest, and a quiet evening in the hotel to rest the vocal chords and recharge the batteries a little. Some of the others are out taking a deserved break at some of the evening activities and parties, but for me I prefer a little rest...I guess that means I might be slipping quietly into that 'getting older' category. It has been great to bring quite a few members of the team who have not been to trade shows before this time out. It's great experience (really hard work though!) and it's nice to see new people getting to learn the ropes.

Tomorrow another ten hours of presentations...you usually really start to feel into the groove of doing the presentations sometime after the first day, but this show involves longer days, and we had practiced a little in advance, so it really started to feel like we almost had everything down smoothly this evening, so hopefully some good presentations to come over the next few days!

There is of course lots of cool stuff being revealed, shown and demonstrated here, and I probably won't get much of a chance to see any of it! I'll be reading up with interest on what being said on things Fable III and the like...
